This wikiHow teaches you how to see your Facebook friends' upcoming birthdays using an iPhone or iPad. Although birthdays used to appear on the Events calendar, you will now find them on a special page called Birthdays. And if you're worried you'll forget your friends' birthdays, you can customize your Facebook notifications so you'll always be notified of upcoming birthdays.
[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Turning On Birthday Notifications
- Open the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad. The Facebook icon looks like a white "f" in a blue square. You can find it on your Home screen or in your App Library. If you find yourself forgetting your friends' birthdays, you can customize birthday notifications on Facebook.
- Tap the three-line menu . It's at the bottom-right corner of Facebook.
- Scroll down and tap . Additional options will expand.
- Scroll down and tap . It's in the "Notifications" section, which is about halfway down the page between the "Ads" and "Shortcuts" sections.
- Tap . A list of options for receiving birthday notifications will appear.
- Toggle the "Allow Notifications on Facebook" switch to the On position . When the switch is blue, you'll receive notifications in Facebook for upcoming and/or belated birthdays.
- If this switch is already on (blue), there is no need to make any changes.
- Select where you want to receive notifications. In the "Where you receive these notifications" section, you can enable Push notifications (the kind that pop up in Facebook your iPhone or iPad), email notifications, and/or SMS text notifications from Facebook.
- Toggle the "Upcoming Birthdays" switch to the On position . This option, under the "Receive notifications for" header, ensures that you'll be notified of birthdays before they happen.
- The "Belated birthdays" option is turned on by default. If you don't want to be notified of birthdays you've missed, you can tap the switch to turn it off.
[Edit]Tips
- Another way to open the Birthdays page is to tap the Notifications icon (the bell) at the bottom of the screen and select any of your current or past birthday notifications.
- If a friend hasn't made their birthday public on Facebook, you will not see their birthday on the calendar or be notified when it's approaching.
- To view a specific friend's birthday, open their profile, tap About, select See All About at the bottom, and then find their birthday under "Basic Info." If you don't see it there, they haven't made their birthdate public.
