How to Late Night Date Ideas

Are you looking to spend extra time with your significant other on late-night dates? Conflicting work schedules and other obligations can strain your relationship, but late-night dates are a great way to ensure you still get lots of quality time with your partner. Read on for a thorough list of fun, fresh, and super easy late-night date ideas for you to enjoy!

[Edit]Things You Should Know

  • Casual activities like nighttime walks, stargazing, and bowling give you time and space to talk with your date.
  • Hit the town and do a tour with your date, or visit a lounge with live music. You could also grab a drink or visit a night market.
  • Do things in the comfort of your home, too. You could always watch movies, create a DIY spa experience, or cook dinner together.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Do some stargazing together.

  1. Stargazing is easy, inexpensive, and very romantic. Spend a few hours talking, cuddling, and looking for constellations together in a scenic spot. All you need is a soft blanket to lay on with your date while you look up at the night sky![1]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 1 Version 2.jpg
    • Try using a telescope to take your stargazing date to the next level. You and your date can take turns looking at the stars through it.
    • If you can, bring your date to a nice park or a beach to do your stargazing. Otherwise, your yard works just as well.

[Edit]Enjoy a moonlit picnic.

  1. Picnics are a picturesque and relaxed way to share dinner (or a snack). Plan a picnic by making a simple meal, grabbing takeout from your favorite restaurant, or putting together an assortment of your favorite snacks. Set up a picnic spot in your yard, park, or beach, and treat your date to a late-night picnic.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 2 Version 2.jpg
    • If you have the picnic in your own yard, you can also go a little further to create a romantic ambiance. Set up string lights or perhaps a couple of candles for the date.
    • Alternatively, turn that picnic into a camping trip! Set up a tent in your backyard (or a nearby camping area) and spend the whole night snuggling with your date.

[Edit]Go for a romantic nighttime stroll.

  1. Walks are simple but romantic and allow for lots of conversation. The best dates are the ones where you can spend the whole time getting to know each other better and enjoying one another’s company. When in doubt, just take a long, relaxing walk together![2] Explore your neighborhood, a park, or an area of town that’s safe and busy—even late at night.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 3 Version 2.jpg
    • If you can, try exploring someplace new that neither of you has seen before!

[Edit]Create a luxurious spa night.

  1. Spa nights are relaxing and give you the chance to pamper one another. Set aside a night to give each other massages, do facials, and even take a warm bath with scented bath salts and soaps. Be sure to light plenty of candles and play soothing music for the ultimate DIY spa experience.[3]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 4 Version 2.jpg

[Edit]Play a game together.

  1. Game nights are a fun and easy way to challenge one another. Pick a favorite board game, card game, or video game to play together. If you have time, bring out several games for you and your date to try out together. You could even create a series of challenges—like who can win the most Mario Kart races.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 5 Version 2.jpg
    • Try creating your own game! Make a late-night TV bingo sheet for anything you might find (silly infomercials, cheesy TV movies, old comedy reruns), and start flipping channels.

[Edit]Take some couple’s quizzes.

  1. Quizzes are an entertaining way to bond at any relationship stage. Go online and find a few couple’s quizzes to take. Look for lighthearted quizzes about which type of couple you are, how well you know your partner, or what your love languages are. Quizzes like that will help you learn more about each other in a fun, playful way!
Late Night Date Ideas Step 6 Version 2.jpg
    • For example, there are lots of goofy online quizzes about what movie couple you and your date are most like or what Disney couple you act like.

[Edit]Plan your dream couple’s vacation.

  1. Give yourselves something to look forward to by planning a trip. If you and your date fantasize about getting out of town on a romantic trip together, why not make that dream a reality? Spend the night picking a vacation spot you’re both dying to see, and then look up things to do and places to stay there.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 7 Version 2.jpg
    • Plan a vacation that suits your style as a couple. Maybe you’re both adventurous and want to backpack across the country, or maybe you’d like to crash on a beach and drink cocktails.
    • Complete the date by setting out snacks or ordering some dinner so the two of you can eat, drink, and enjoy the planning process together!

[Edit]Have a cozy movie night.

  1. Movies give you plenty of time to relax and snuggle with your date. Watch one of your favorites, pick a new movie you’ve both wanted to see, or do a throwback night and watch a classic film you’re both interested in. Pop some fresh popcorn and lounge on the couch with your date and a bunch of blankets.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 8 Version 2.jpg
    • If there’s time, you could even make it a double feature. Pick a movie and have your date pick the other, so you can show one another a movie you love.
    • Try building a blanket fort in your living room and cuddle up with your date inside it (with lots of pillows) while you watch the movie!

[Edit]Cook a late meal together.

  1. Dinner is an even more romantic activity when you cook it together. Come up with a delicious dish you’ll both enjoy, pick up the ingredients beforehand, and spend some time making dinner with your date. Then, enjoy the final product together with some wine, candlelight, and mood music.[4]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 9 Version 2.jpg
    • You could also do something a little unconventional, like having breakfast for late-night dinner. There’s never a bad time to make sweet, fluffy pancakes!
    • If your date is late enough that you’ve both already eaten, skip dinner and go straight to dessert. Prepare dessert and eat it together—with mood lighting and small talk.

[Edit]Hit up a late-night karaoke bar.

  1. Karaoke is a great way to learn about one another’s taste in music. Take your date to a karaoke bar for some musical fun. Order some drinks, have a couple of snacks, and pick out songs to sing together—some you both enjoy and others you’d like to introduce your date to (and vice versa).[5]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 10 Version 2.jpg
    • If you’re not in the mood to go out, just set up DIY karaoke at home by queuing up karaoke versions of songs on YouTube or Spotify!

[Edit]Eat out at a 24-hour diner.

  1. A 24-hour diner lets you have a romantic dinner out at any time. Most restaurants close after typical dinner hours, but not all diners! Bring your date out for dinner and spend the night chatting in a booth over dinner and drinks. It’s simple, fun, and usually quite affordable.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 11 Version 2.jpg
    • Alternatively, order takeout and eat a restaurant-quality meal together at home. If you order early, you can get food from your favorite place and heat it up during dinnertime.

[Edit]Check out the local bars.

  1. Get creative and try cocktail making or attend a wine tasting. You and your date can hit up a bar any old day; to make the late-night date feel special, look for unique opportunities like wine tasting (or any kind of liquor you both enjoy, like whiskey or beer). Take a class to learn cocktail-making, and make fancy drinks for one another to try.
Late Night Date Ideas Step 12 Version 2.jpg
    • If you decide to go to a bar, turn it into a late-night pub crawl so you and your date can sample lots of delicious drinks. Try ordering cocktails for one another to spice things up!

[Edit]Visit a bowling alley.

  1. Bowling is a great way to play games and still have time for small talk. Plus, lots of bowling alleys are open late! Check out your local bowling places to find one that fits your schedule, and spend the night bowling with your date.[6] Be sure to grab snacks together, too!
Late Night Date Ideas Step 13 Version 2.jpg
    • You could also find a pool hall and play billiards. Like bowling alleys, there are plenty of late-night pool halls to visit on a date.

[Edit]Explore a night market.

  1. Markets provide an engaging backdrop for a late-night stroll together. Just like taking a regular walk, you can spend your time at a night market chatting, exploring, and getting to know one another.[7] As a bonus, you can also do light shopping and look through colorful artisan stalls!
Late Night Date Ideas Step 14 Version 2.jpg
    • If you both have the funds, make a game out of it. Search the market for a small gift you think the other would like and exchange gifts at the end of the date.

[Edit]Check out a nightclub or lounge.

  1. Clubs and lounges are great spots to dance and listen to music together. Find a venue nearby that offers live music for an extra-romantic atmosphere. Go to a club if you and your date prefer lots of noise, crowds, and dancing, or visit a lounge if you’re looking for a more laid-back experience.[8]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 15 Version 2.jpg
    • Many other places might have live music, too! For example, you might find a group that plays Irish music at a local pub.

[Edit]Go on a city tour.

  1. Tours are an entertaining and informative way to experience your city. Do you and your date love ghost stories? Or maybe you’re both film buffs or art enthusiasts? Regardless of your interests, most cities will have a late-night tour that suits your interests. Check local travel agencies to find out what tours are being offered.[9]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 16 Version 2.jpg
    • For example, you could go on a nighttime ghost tour of the city or a tour of iconic film spots if you love movies.

[Edit]Watch the sunrise.

  1. Start your day with a romantic twist by watching the sunrise together. Wake up early, meet your date, and find a spot with a great view to watch the sunrise. This could be your porch, yard, roof, or a nearby park. If you need a pick-me-up, head over to a coffee shop with your date afterward.[10]
Late Night Date Ideas Step 17 Version 2.jpg
    • You and your date could also spend the previous night together, either doing one of the above activities or just talking! Then, head outside to watch the sunrise.

How to Price Match at Target

Did you find a better price for an item you just purchased at Target? No worries—the store’s “Price Match Guarantee” might have you covered. We’ll go over exactly how you can price match your items at the store or online, as well as the policy’s guidelines, limitations, and exclusions. In a matter of minutes, you’ll be an expert on this handy, money-saving hack.

[Edit]Things You Should Know

  • Price match at Target in person by visiting a physical store and speaking with a Target team member.
  • Price match online by either calling guest services at 1-800-591-3869 or by chatting online with customer service.
  • Target price matches with many major retailers like Amazon, Costco, Sam’s Club, and Walmart, but huge competitor sales and bundles aren’t eligible.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]How to Price Match (In-Store)

  1. Search for a cheaper listing on Target’s website or an eligible competitor site. Hop on target.com while you’re in the store and see if you can find a cheaper listing for the physical item you’re about to buy. You can also check other retail sites like Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, CVS, Home Depot, Petsmart, Sam’s Club, Staples, Walgreens, and Walmart.
Price Match at Target Step 1.jpg
    • Click here for an official list of retail sites that Target price matches with.
    • You can also check local competitor print ads for a cheaper price listing.
    • You can even price-match groceries at Target. Just make sure that the listing includes the exact same brand, size, and weight as the item that you purchased. The items also need to be the same quantity—for instance, you can’t price-match a single bottle of Gatorade with a multi-pack.
  2. Show the lower price to the cashier when you check out. Pull up your phone and let the cashier confirm that the listing meets Target’s price match policy. If everything looks good, the cashier will refund you the difference right there.[1]
Price Match at Target Step 2.jpg
    • Unfortunately, you can’t do a price match by yourself in self-checkout. Target’s policy requires a team member to check and confirm the price match.

[Edit]How to Price Match (Online)

  1. Dial 1-800-591-3869 or open up Target’s customer service chat box. Did you just find a better deal on a competitor’s site while doing some online Target shopping? Call up Target’s guest services number or start an online chat with a Target customer service agent. Send them a link to the listing you’d like to price match—once you place the order, they’ll refund you the difference between the 2 listings.[2]
Price Match at Target Step 3.jpg

[Edit]Can I still price match after making a purchase?

  1. Yes, you can get a price match refund up to 2 weeks after your purchase. Bring both your receipt and the lower price listing with you to the store’s customer service department so a team member can confirm the price match.[3]
Price Match at Target Step 4.jpg

[Edit]Guidelines and Limitations

  1. The lower price needs to be active when you’re requesting a price match. Let’s say you’re trying to price match a shirt—you bought it at Target for $22, but you saw it sold on Amazon for $15. That $15 price tag needs to be live and active on Amazon’s site when you request the price match, or else it won’t be eligible.
Price Match at Target Step 5.jpg
    • A screenshot of the lower price won’t cut it—the discounted listing needs to be accessible on the website in order for the price match to go through.
  2. The item listing needs to be completely identical to the item you bought before. Double-check that the brand, size, color, model number, and any other relevant product info on the listing is exactly the same as the product you bought. Even the slightest difference can invalidate your price match request.
Price Match at Target Step 6.jpg
    • For instance, you can’t price match a 60-inch Samsung TV with a 60-inch LG TV.
  3. Target may limit the number of items you can buy with a price match. At the end of the day, Target has the final say in what your price match can be used for. Depending on the item, Target team members might limit the quantity of your price-matched purchases at their discretion.[4]
Price Match at Target Step 7.jpg
    • Let’s say you price match a laptop at Target with the exact same model at Best Buy. Target might limit you to buying one laptop rather than buying 2 or 3 at once.
    • If you live in Hawaii or Alaska, you can’t price match with other online stores. You can still use the price match policy with lower prices you find on Target’s website, though.

[Edit]Exclusions

  1. Clearance, used, pre-owned, refurbished, or opened items don’t qualify for price matching. Target’s price match policy only extends to brand-new items that are placed on sale or marked down at a lower price. Drastic clearance and liquidation sales won’t be price-matched, nor will used, refurbished, damaged, or pre-opened items. Other exclusions include:
Price Match at Target Step 8.jpg
    • Items sold online by third-party sellers
    • Major sales or offers from competitor sites
    • Specialty purchases like alcohol, cell phone plans, warranties, and pharmacy prescriptions
    • Typo-related price changes[5]

[Edit]Can you price match items that are out of stock?

  1. Yes, but only if the items are out of stock on Target’s website. Online competitor sites need to have the item in stock when you go to price-match or else you won’t get a refund.[6]
Price Match at Target Step 9.jpg
    • Target has a rain check system for sale items that are out of stock in your physical store. Target will let you use the same sale price for the next 30-45 days at all Target stores.

[Edit]What discounts can you apply to a price match purchase?

  1. Target RedCard and employee discounts can be applied to a price match purchase. Using your Target RedCard always saves you 5% on your purchases, even if you’re buying price-matched items. If you’re a Target employee, your discount also gets applied to your final purchase.[7]
Price Match at Target Step 10.jpg
    • Manufacturer coupons can be used with a price-matched item, but Target and Target Circle coupons aren’t eligible.

[Edit]Warnings

  • Target’s price match policy doesn’t extend to listings found on comparison-shopping sites. Make sure that your online listing comes directly from an approved competitor website.[8]
  • Only SuperTargets can price-match grocery items that are measured by the pound.[9]

How to Make Chicken Fried Rice

Chicken fried rice is a popular dish at Chinese restaurants in many countries. It is an excellent recipe to make at home, because you can gather leftovers, such as cold rice, eggs, chicken pieces, and frozen or fresh vegetables to make a meal.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Make the Rice

  1. Use 4 cups (600g) of leftover white rice. It can be taken directly from the refrigerator to use in this fried rice recipe.
Make Chicken Fried Rice Step 1 Version 3.jpg
    • If you do not have leftover rice from a previous dinner, bring 2 cups (473ml) of water to a rolling boil. Add 2 cups (370g) of white basmati rice. Place the lid on the rice pot and turn the temperature to low. Allow it to simmer for 20 minutes. Check it near the end to make sure it does not stick. Place it on a cold burner for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork. Place the rice on a cookie sheet to cool until it is room temperature.
    • You can also use a rice cooker to quickly make the rice. Then, leave it on a cookie sheet in the kitchen or refrigerator to cool.

[Edit]Cook the Chicken

  1. Dice boneless, skinless chicken breasts into small pieces. Season them with salt and pepper.

  2. Pour 2 to 3 tbsp. (30 to 44ml) of vegetable oil into a large frying pan or wok. Turn the burner on to medium or medium high heat. Swirl the vegetable oil so it covers the bottom of the pan.

  3. Place the chicken in the frying pan. Sauté it until it is cooked all the way through. Remove the chicken with a slotted spoon.

  4. Cover the bowl of chicken so that it will retain its heat.

[Edit]Cook the Vegetables

  1. Dice 1 small onion and 2 garlic cloves.

  3. Add 1 more tbsp. (15ml) of vegetable oil, if it no longer coats the pan.

    • You can also use fresh peas and carrots if you prefer. Dice the carrots ahead of time.
  4. Add the onion, frozen peas and frozen carrots to the hot frying pan. Stir them with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes, until soft.

  5. Add the diced garlic during the last minute or 30 seconds.

[Edit]Add the Eggs

  1. Whisk 3 large eggs in a small bowl.

  2. Make a space in the frying pan to scramble the eggs. Put a few drops of oil on the pan if it looks dry.

  3. Add the eggs. Stir them with the wooden spoon when they start to fry. Distribute them throughout the vegetables when they are almost done.

[Edit]Stir Fry the Rice

  1. Add extra oil to the pan, if there isn't enough to coat the rice. The amount you add will depend upon how greasy you like your chicken fried rice.

  2. Add the cooled rice to the pan.

  3. Stir in the cooked chicken.

  4. Add 1/4 cup (59ml) of soy sauce to the pan or wok.

  5. Stir well, frying and mixing all the ingredients as you cook.

  6. Stir fry until no liquid remains in your frying pan and the rice is golden brown.

  7. Garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
